Calendar GuidelinesFamily Fun, Weekly Family Activities, Kids’ Classes and Community Connection
The purpose of our monthly Family Fun calendar is to list affordable daily and weekly family-friendly events, activities and kid-friendly classes that take place in San Diego County. Carnivals, theater productions, musical concerts, storytimes, cultural festivals and arts and crafts programs are examples of what you’ll find in our monthly calendar.
- Weekly Family Activities occur the same day each week and include storytimes, outdoor concerts, arts and crafts, fishing clinics, kid-friendly hikes or tours, family-friendly comedy shows and more.
- Kids’ Classes encompass ongoing and affordable music, art, preschool, beginner sports instruction such as fishing or tae kwon do and even classes for homeschoolers. Many classes are offered on a drop-in basis.
- Community Connection is a resource page designed to help busy families find local and online parenting, healthcare and educational information, support and discussion groups, volunteer opportunities as well as playgroups, contests and more.
Deadline: The deadline for submissions is the 1st of the previous month. For example, if you have an event or activity for the month of August, the deadline would be July 1. Submissions: Email submissions are preferred; faxes and snail mail submissions are acceptable. Media releases or event announcements should include the following information: media contact name, title, phone number and e-mail address, name of event or activity, a brief 40-50 word description, date(s) and time(s), admission, single ticket price or other charge(s) for adults and children by age, complete address of the event or activity, Web site and public information telephone number. Due to content concerns, age recommendations are helpful, particularly for theater productions, movies and other activities. Artwork: Please send one or two color images ONLY WHEN REQUESTED. The following formats are acceptable: JPEG, TIFF, EPS or PDF. Images must be high-resolution; please send as an attachment. Publication: San Diego Family Magazine reserves the right to edit all copy. Due to content and space limitations, a submission does not guarantee a listing.

San Diego Family Magazine Toy Review Submissions
We have two toy reviews each year. Our Summer Toy Review is part of our Celebrations Guide in our June issue and our Holiday Toy Review appears in our November and December issues.
We are looking for toys and games that are new to the market. We are not able to review revamped editions of classic toys or games. Please do not re-submit toys that you have already sent for previous review. We do not accept CD's or DVD's for either of these toy reviews.
We receive many great submissions, but space constraints limit the number of toys that can be included in our print issue. Additional toy reviews will be available on our Website, SanDiegoFamily.com. We cannot guarantee placement in the print issue, but all toys that receive a high score (9 or 10), will be included in the online review.
If your item is selected for review, we will email you a PDF of the review, which will also be available online within the digital issue. If you prefer to receive a hard copy of the issue, please include your business card or current mailing address. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will not be considered for review.
To submit products for review (in print OR online), please adhere to the following guidelines:
Send two samples of each toy/game to Linda Bay at the address below (please be certain to note 5th Floor). Include the following:
